I grew up in The Shetland Islands, Scotland. I was trained there, I moved to Canada in 1991. I've always loved working with my hands and I especially enjoy creative, artistic projects.
In my spare time I enjoy travelling and running marathons.

I began my apprenticeship in Scotland at 15 years old. I was taught in an old school way using hand tools. Once I mastered them I was allowed to use power tools. When I was fully train
I always tell my young apprentice carpenters that experience is the key to success in construction. I'm very lucky that I have a broad range of experience. I began my apprenticeship in Scotland at 15 years old. I was taught in an old school way using hand tools. Once I mastered them I was allowed to use power tools. When I was fully trained I came to Canada and I worked my way across Canada. I worked on some interesting projects including building log homes, house building in Nunavut and commercial projects like water treatment plants in remote communities. In 1998 I came to the GTA and worked with a leading company in the restoration business. In 2003 I started my own business.
